Conservation Ontario continues to support the public鈥檚 awareness of one of Ontario鈥檚 flagship programs, Drinking Water Source Protection (DWSP), by implementing a Water Wednesdays summer social media campaign. Through these pages you鈥檒l learn about where your drinking water comes from and how local municipal drinking water sources are protected. For example, drinking water protection zones are areas around municipal drinking water sources where extra protective measures help to reduce risk and keep municipal drinking water safe and clean. Drinking Water Source Protection Road Signs can be found along rural, urban municipal roads and highways! These signs mark where there is a protection zone, which is defined as a certain amount of area around a surface water intake or well head that require specific protective measures for natural water sources, such as groundwater, lakes, or rivers that provide municipal drinking water.
