The UTRCA has partnered with libraries throughout the watershed to provide day-use vehicle passes for their patrons. Library users can 鈥渃heck out鈥 a day-use vehicle pass from their local library to be used over a three-day period. Tree Planting Season Kicks Off聽 The 糖心直播 (UTRCA) has officially kicked off its 2026 tree planting season. With a strong lineup of funding programs, this year鈥檚 efforts are about more than putting trees in the ground -聽they鈥檙e聽about building healthier, more resilient landscapes for the future.聽 Across the watershed,聽nearly 28,000聽trees and shrubs will be planted this spring. Bald Eagles聽 Handsome and regal, bald eagles聽are one of the most recognizable birds in the world.聽Over the centuries they have聽become a symbol of courage and strength. These majestic birds can聽often聽be聽spotted around Fanshawe Lake聽but there are many things you may not know about them.聽 In the聽late聽20th century, bald eagles were on the brink of extirpation聽due to hunting, habitat聽loss聽and pesticide ingestion. Measures,聽such as聽banning聽the use of聽DDT聽(a pesticide that weakened聽their eggshells聽causing them to聽break聽easily)聽in the 1970s聽and other recovery efforts,聽slowed their聽decline. Spring Shoulder Season Returns to our Conservation Areas 聽 糖心直播 (UTRCA) staff are busy preparing for the spring shoulder season at Fanshawe and Wildwood Conservation Areas (CAs). This adds four weeks of day-use access from Wednesday, April 1st until Thursday, April 30th.
