Green Stormwater Infrastructure GSI for Residents

Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) is a form of landscaping that manages rainwater on your property.聽 It can help reduce problems with ponding water on your property, and can also add beauty to your yard.聽 By using GSI techniques, you also know you are helping to protect the health of your local streams.

There are many GSI features that homeowners can implement to help manage stormwater quantity and quality, including:

  • Downspout disconnection
  • Absorbent landscapes
  • Rain gardens
  • Rain barrels
  • Soakaways
  • Permeable paving
  • Green roofs
  • Stormwater planters

For more information on these and other GSI features, visit the Sustainable Technologies Evaluation Program鈥檚 , and look under 鈥淪tructural BMP Types鈥 and 鈥淣on-structural Practices.鈥
