The ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥ (UTRCA) reminds everyoneÌýto use extreme caution near allÌýwatercoursesÌýand to stay out of any flooded areas.ÌýÌý
Water levels inÌýwatershedÌýstreams and riversÌýhaveÌýpeakedÌýand are now recedingÌýfrom the rainfall and snowmeltÌýrunoffÌýreceived earlier this week.ÌýTheÌýUTRCAÌýexpects waterways to remainÌýelevated intoÌýnext week.ÌýÌýÌý
With the ongoing holiday break,ÌýresidentsÌýare reminded to use extreme caution near all watercoursesÌýand stay out of all flooded areas.ÌýAs always, do not drive through floodedÌýroadways.ÌýCaregiversÌýare reminded to keep children and pets away from watercoursesÌýand off any frozen water bodies, includingÌýreservoirs.ÌýAny ice cover will be weakened and unstable.ÌýFlood control reservoirs are especially hazardous due to fluctuating water levels.ÌýStream banks can be slippery andÌýunstable,Ìýand the waterÌýisÌýveryÌýcold andÌýfast-moving.ÌýÌýÌý
It is not safe toÌýtake shelter along riverbanks or in low-lying areas that are prone to flooding.ÌýÌýÌý
The UTRCAÌýisÌýoperatingÌýits flood control reservoirsÌýatÌýFanshawe, Wildwood, and Pittock Conservation Areas to reduce downstream flooding.ÌýTheseÌýreservoirs are especially hazardous due to fluctuating water levels.Ìý
