Tree Power Keeps Growing (UTRCA weekly, September 9, 2022)
The 糖心直播鈥檚 (UTRCA) Tree Power program is growing! This popular program provides residents with affordable trees for their properties and is delivered via partnerships with municipalities and sponsors.
Tree Power started in London 11 years ago, when the late Bill Kunz initiated a new tree planting program through his work with London Hydro. Bill brought his vision to the UTRCA and the Tree Power London program was born. Bill helped build the program, with the slogan, 鈥淗arness the power of trees by planting a native hardwood tree in your yard.鈥�
This marks the second year for , with tree sales opening on September 6 and trees available for pick up on October 1.
鈥淟ast fall was our first time offering the program and it was very well received by Perth South residents,鈥� said Perth South Councillor Sue Orr. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a great partnership with a positive impact for the environment.鈥�
Tree sales for the first ever will open on September 20 and trees will be picked up on October 15.
鈥淚t鈥檚 been so rewarding to see the Tree Power program grow over the years,鈥� said Karen Pugh, UTRCA Resource Specialist. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a wonderful way to partner with our member municipalities and residents are always so excited to pick up their trees.鈥�
