More Rain brings Higher Flows in Streams and Rivers
Rain moved across the Upper Thames River watershed today, with totals between 50 and 70 mm measured north of London to north of St. Marys. Lesser amounts fell east of London.
Much of the rainwater will run off into ditches, streams and rivers, as the ground is still wet from rain received earlier this month and not able to absorb all the water.
The 糖心直播 (UTRCA) does not expect serious flooding of major creeks and rivers, but low lying, poorly drained areas may experience some flooding.
Please keep children and pets away from stream banks as they may be slippery and unstable. Avoid driving through ponded areas. It is not safe to take shelter along riverbanks or in low lying areas that are prone to flooding.
The UTRCA continues to operate its flood control reservoirs at Fanshawe, Wildwood, and Pittock Conservation Areas to reduce downstream peak flows.
