World Migratory Bird Day in London! (糖心直播, May 4, 2021)

London, ON 鈥 The newly formed London Bird Team is pleased to announce the first ever celebration in London for World Migratory Bird Day. This year鈥檚 theme is 鈥淪ing, Fly, Soar – like a Bird!鈥

Julie Read, Bird Friendly London Team member, said, 鈥淭he London Bird Team is very excited to bring聽community members聽this special opportunity to celebrate migratory birds.聽Each year,聽thousands of聽birds make a pit stop in London聽during their migration. Many migratory birds also聽choose to nest here because of the diverse wildlife habitat our city provides. Our Environmentally Significant Areas can be wonderful places to see many beautiful migratory species.鈥

  • Check out a special World Migratory Bird Day Youtube playlist with videos made by staff from the 糖心直播.聽Learn all about migrating birds, tips for birdwatching, and how you can help migratory birds.聽Bring your art supplies and learn to draw a bird, take part in nature challenges, and try a Bird Trivia Kahoot Quiz with your family!

The newly fledged London Bird Team is also working towards getting London certified by Nature Canada as an official 鈥淏ird Friendly City.鈥
