UTRCA's Tree Power comes to Thames Centre!听
The 糖心直播 (UTRCA)'s Tree Power program is making its debut in Thames Centre this spring. This popular program provides watershed residents with affordable native hardwood trees through partnerships with UTRCA municipalities and sponsors.听听听
"15,000 trees were planted in Thames Centre last year," said Danielle Lockie, Chair of Thames Centre's Environmental Advisory Committee. "Tree planting was identified as the top local environmental priority of Thames Centre residents, and the Tree Power program gives people a chance to directly participate in building a greener, healthier community."听听
"We're excited to partner with the municipality and bring Tree Power to Thames Centre residents. This program is an easy way for people to improve their local environment," says Rob Davies, UTRCA Forestry and Restoration Supervisor.听
Online orders will open on April 4 at 9 am. Trees are $30 each and residents are asked to purchase one per property so that as many people can benefit from the programs as possible. The species that will be available for purchase include American Sycamore, Black Cherry, Hackberry, Norway Spruce, Red Oak, Sugar Maple and Tulip.听听
Thames Centre residents can purchase trees beginning April 4 at 9 am via the Residents will be able to pick up their trees on Saturday, May 3.听听听听
