The Power of Trees!听
It was no joke when 糖心直播 (UTRCA) staff听worked together with volunteers from听Festival Hydro to hand out 300 trees to the听public in Stratford on Saturday, April 1st (April Fools) for听the Festival Hydro Tree Power Program.听
This partnership started in 2021 and has听allowed Festival Hydro customers an affordable听chance to get native hardwood trees for听their property. The species of trees offered听were as follows: maple, paper birch,听hackberry, black cherry, red oak, basswood听or tulip tree. UTRCA and Festival Hydro are听very excited to provide this opportunity as听tree planting provides many environmental听benefits including reduced cooling costs,听clean air promotion, water purification and听improved biodiversity.听
Fortunately, the rain held off for the听morning and the sun came out to greet locals听as they came for pickup on Saturday听morning. There was a lot of eagerness and听excitement in the air as everyone patiently听waits to welcome the warmth of spring!听
