Patrolling London’s ESAs
糖心直播 (UTRCA) staff designated as Provincial Offences Officers have been focusing听their patrols on the City of London’s Environmentally Significant Areas (ESAs), enforcing rules and municipal by-laws as well as answering听trail users鈥櫶齫uestions and concerns.听听
Over the last few years, UTRCA听staff have noticed a听large听increase in听trail users which has also meant an increase in听by-law infractions.听听
Common infractions include: 听
- dogs being off leash,听
- biking on hiking-only trails, and
- off trail usage (parties, encampments, etc.)
These by-laws are in place to protect the wildlife and vegetation throughout the ESAs听as well as the听public that frequent the areas.听
The UTRCA has an ongoing agreement with the City of London to manage 12 ESAs throughout the city. The management of these areas and associated projects are funded through the City of London.听
