Conservation Field Day Open to Public! (糖心直播, October 19, 2021)
Anyone interested in conservation is welcome to join us for a free Conservation Field Day聽at the UTRCA鈥檚 Thorndale Demonstration Farm (16169 Thorndale Road) on Wednesday, November 3. Drop in anytime between 10 am and 2 pm.
This 58 acre聽farm demonstrates various best management practices聽and showcases how聽to improve soil health and local water quality.
When: Wednesday, November 3, 10 am 鈥 2 pm (drop in anytime between 10 am – 2 pm)
Where: 16169 Thorndale Road, at the corner of Prospect Hill Road (about 2 km west of Thorndale) ()
Brad Glasman, UTRCA Manager of Conservation Services, explained that, 鈥淭he Thorndale Demonstration Farm is intended to demonstrate agricultural best management practices (BMPs) and showcase how they can improve soil health, water quality, and productivity. The goal is to provide examples of a suite of BMPs that you can use on your own farm property.鈥
UTRCA staff and partners will be showcasing a range of BMPs, including: controlled drainage, structural erosion control, blind inlets, woody fencerows, fragile land retirement, pollinator planting, cover crops, crop rotation/residue, soil health, research options
